Again, I apologize; it was just the word on the street.

No apology needed! I'm just happy to get to say that it doesn't cost that much.

Paul wanted to hear the acoustic on the recording. It's on most of the songs but, I think this is the most prominent one. Keep in mind this is just an unmastered mp3. Still doesn't sound bad.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program.....
Tell Evan Good Job! I'm going to show this to my 13 year old daughter for inspiration. I'm trying to get her to lay down some xylophone tracks on one of my band's tunes to give it that spacy sci-fi feel, but she's a little reluctant about doing it. She can play in school band concerts in front of school mates and parents, but too shy in front of her dad and a microphone!!
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

Actually Evan is not so bold (personally I think he's being falsely modest). He does feel at home in the studio though. Especially on these latest recordings.

Maybe in the case of your daughter, you need to explain that she's just helping you out, rather than you trying to show off her abilities.

Good point, and she really would be. I find it tough to find time for me to practice. Trying to nail a xylophone part on my own???!!! Good Grief!

Chip, I hope she does eventually record some parts for you. It's so rewarding watching the kids grow. Whether it be musically, or otherwise. I used to be a part of his music, now he's still willing to let me watch

Until then, here's another sample where you can hear the Rickenbacker acoustic guitar qualities as the layers of sound develop

I like the fact that it was recorded using a mic, and maximizing the acoustic qualities of the guitar rather than the pickup. Conversely, we've also brought the guitar to a few open mic jams, and the pickup sounds great just plugged directly into the sound system.
