Re: My Dream Ric
Lucky for me, my dream Ric turned out to be a Fireglo 360/12, with 2 hi-gains and a 24 fret neck. Believe it or not, I even found a cheap, used one.
Jangle, Chime & Twang.
Re: My Dream Ric
Funny thing is, Paul W. here on the forums could probably make that happen for you...
But like you said...start getting those kidneys out!

Then you'd be organ-less.....and Ric-less ! (They never made one like that.)

Re: My Dream Ric
Am I allowed to tell you what my dream Ric is?
Solidbody, 600 with large-330 esque horns, high gain in the treble, loud humbucker in the neck, toaster in the middle, volume for each pickup, five-way selector, transparent jetglo (Does that even exist?)... I'd never leave my guitar room. I'd pump up the neck pickup with the fifth knob, hit the fuzz, and play like Robert Fripp - Then jangle like Peter Buck, and quack like Richard Thompson.

Re: My Dream Ric
Some great dream Ricks there
My current dream Rickie would be a 360 WB, wide 24-fret neck, Ric humbucking PUs, black vintage knobs, modern style Schaller strap pins, R-tailpiece, Burgundyglo.
Really not that demanding, eh?

FYI: That would make the guitar a 371 WB: 330s do not have binding or triangle inlays. If the guitar is double bound and has inlays it's a 360/370/375. 330s and 360s used to always have the same body style until someone thought it was a good idea to design the corpulent-shaped 360 "New Style" body. Formerly, the 330 was a standard model that had dot inlays and no binding, while 360s were a deluxe model with binding on both sides, and triangle inlays, but both models shared the same body style.
There is no reason to ever be bored.
...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Re: My Dream Ric
For a bass, it would be a shortscale 4003S in blueboy with gold guards and TRC. Vintage pickups, a vintage tailpeice and a full length pickguard. With vintage knobs and tugbar.
For Guitar, I'd like a reverse fireglo 365 capri(shortscale) with toasters, light flame maple (with a little birdseye) checkerboard binding on the front, back, and headstock. Also an accent vibrola would be prime...and gold guards and TRC.

A 370-12OS FG ckbd with a 1.73 wide nut, 22 (not 21 or 24) frets, with my wiring mods and fanned frets: starting with a conventional square nut, the high e string has a 24.625 scale and the low E has a 24.875 scale with "Toasterbuckers," if such a pickup is ever developed. I have a custom 6-string guitar with a neck with these fanned fret dimensions, and it is sooooo comfortable.
As for bass, well, I already have a 4002.
As for a 6-string, I'm still out on that one, although something to match the 12-string above is most likely, strung with D'Addario 11-49 w/ 21w third.

Re: My Dream Ric
As much as I love the look of a double-bound 370, I'd have to say that my dream Ric would be--I guess you'd have to call it a 670. Wider neck, bigger frets, three adjustable-pole modern Hi-Gains with a slightly hotter one in the bridge position for balanced output across all three pickups, wired up like a 660 but with the blend knob converted to a volume control for the middle pickup (independent volumes for each pickup), no bass-cut capacitor on bridge pickup, visually, all the standard features of the 660 (checkerboard binding, gold pickguards and nameplate, birdseye or flame maple, vintage-type pink Fireglo or Mapleglo. I think it could be a Strat- or Tele-killer, and I love Teles...
Re: My Dream Ric
I'd like a 330/360, 6 string, 21 fret, vintage toasters, Accent, Jet-Glo. Or one of those 360/6C63's, which were sent to Japan. I don't think I can pony up $5K for one though.
