Ed's got Lemmys! (3)

Post by atomic_punk »

Jeff R. just strolled by my desk and mentioned that Ed Roman has 3 Lemmys in stock! I checked out the website and it appears to be true. Let the frenzy begin!

I'm only 3 hours from Vegas ... Ed's store is a hugely dangerous place. Jeff if you do come to Vegas I'll drive up and we can go check out Ed's together !!!

Only 50 Lemmy's to be made, frenzy indeed !!!

According to the Ric website, yes, it is 60.
It's nice to see them, I thought they were just a mirage. Gorgeous! I know there is at least one forumite waiting for his....(and its not me!)

I dont know for sure, but I am thinking since people have been waiting for them for so long, and they are in the hands of the devil himself, I think you are looking at 5 figures to start.

1/17/01 was when I ordered mine from Mike Parks. Hopefully it will be here soon since some are being produced. I am tempted to call Mr. Roman to see what he wants for one but last time I talked to him I was left feeling "dirty". I'm sure I'd have to refinance my house to get one off of him.
I'll just continue to wait for mine which I am "locked in" at $1799 (at least $1799 is the price on my deposit receipt so hopefully RIC doesn't change what they initially were going to charge the dealers for them).
My only regret is not ordering a few of them to resell at a reasonable profit. At least one other forum member has one on order from Mike Parks....placed after mine (thank god :-)

I saw that on his site about 2-3 weeks ago but just blew it off. I thought, no way.

Whats the scoop on this "Ed Roman" anyway? I'd never heard of him except for here on the forum.

The no touch policy sounds interesting.

Hi Brian, I think there's more than just me :^). I don't mind being behind you, because the # I'm hoping for is one of the later ones ...
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.

I know we really shouldn't dump on people here ... but Scott asked about Ed ... let me put it this way ... He is a salesman ... He is a legend in his own mind ... but he does have a boatload of Rics in his store ... I'd rather deal with Mike Parks or POTR ...

....Shuddering as I post this....

"Whats the scoop on this "Ed Roman" anyway? I'd never heard of him except for here on the forum. "

I visited his new store back in May and he had quite a few RIC basses in stock. Where they were keeping them was around a corner, out of sight of the counter area. My buddy and I saw them and started drooling and went over for a closer look when all of a sudden , the ER Gestapo came around the corner and told us we weren't supposed to be back there and we couldn't touch anything....I felt like I had accidentally driven into AREA 51 by mistake!! Geeesh....I MIGHT have left there with that over-priced CS if that hadn't happened...

Jeff's right, in his own mind Ed's a legend.

Some of the store staff are a little ummm "enthusiastic". My Scots acccent usually works, and they think I'm a tourist. Chris, at least you weren't held at gunpoint !!!

I just want the freaking thing before I get arthritis. I plan on playing the heck out of it so I'll be just as happy with #31 as I would with #60 :-) Doesn't Ric issue the "__ out of 60" on a random basis anyway?
Disregard this post if you want a later one strictly for the hope of improved quality and not for a late number on the certificate.
