I used to play guitar back in college and recently decided to get back into it. My wife, knowing that I've been obsessed with Rickenbacker guitars since I first heard Life's Rich Pageant, decided to spoil me. So for my 35th birthday she got me a 360/6. Yes, I believe I may have the coolest wife ever...

You've got a cool guitar, and most definitely a cool wife! Congrats!

By the way, you're not the only one. My wife has made me buy several "just 'cause they're so gorgeous"...

Oh yes, LRP was the first REM album Peter's six string really shined. The 360 will treat you well if you gel with it.

And if you're interested, I remastered LRP and Document for some fellow REM fans on OurREM. My version is different than the new one.

I'd definitely be interested in hearing them! My old hobby was trying to track down as many versions of I Believe as humanly possible.

Without question, your wife impressed us all...good stuff. I have yet to meet the girl of my dreams, so I've had to buy all my own gear. However, no wife and no kids, yet, means I've got a lot of guitars! Luckily, my habit didn't become something incredibly expensive like motorcycles or cars or boats or fly fishing gear!

Addendum: I can only imagine you're saving up now for her impressive gift she'll undoubtedly receive! Any ideas?

Well, I'm currently playing in the basement of a rental apartment as we're in the process of renovating ours. So I suppose that counts as an impressive gift!

Though she has already requested that I get a wall hanger because she thinks it will look perfect once our apartment is finished. I couldn't agree more.

And thank you, Bill. She is quite wonderful.
