Awaiting my Desert Gold 4003

Post by Lj_gtr »

G'day guys, as this is my first post in these forums please forgive my amateurish approach to this. I've just recently purchased a Desert Gold 4003 from the states and it is currently waiting in Melbourne for it's final journey to Adelaide. Got the old message on the tracker yesterday saying the a Government agency has requested a quarantine of the item. Was a tad nervous when I saw that but after reading some posts from seasoned users I'm not as concerned.

I fell in love with the DG as soon as I saw it and my decision, although tough, was made. I am waiting very impatiently and just want it for the weekend as I have a few gigs to play and want to let her sing.

I had a few questions:

1) is there an official number of how many DG 4003's were made
And
2) does anyone know of any in Australia

Cheers Ryan

Welcome Ryan!

No official count on how many 4003 DGs were made, but there are 10 listed on the Register, including a 5-string and an 8-string: http://www.rickresource.com/register/in ... celebrity=

Welcome aboard Ryan. Congrats on your purchase.

There was one for sale in Sydney several years ago that had been gigged quite extensively and was looking a tad tired.

Thankyou for the welcome guys. I have found this site very helpful since discovering it. I've even told our lead guitarist to join as he owns a MB 360. He's the one that got me onto getting a Ricky ever since my last bass (ernie ball musicman stingray) was stolen from my car after a gig. Thank god for insurance

Definitely will post photos once she has arrived

Welcome, Ryan!

I have a 330 DG, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Please be sure to post a picture or two of your 4003 DG when you get it. :)
