So, I guess you won't be needing that old 21 fret thing sitting in the closet, anymore, huh?

Here's one that the seller sent to me.

I'll try to get more over the weekend.

Unfortunately, it will have to go. I can only keep one oldie, and the '69 is it.

Kevin that is sweet looking! I love the paint combo from that period! Play and sound as good as it looks!

Thats a beauty!
Many congratulations Kevin,
never part with that one!

By the way,I am interested in the gradual changes in 60s basses with regards to the woodwork.
How early/late 60s does the volute come in at the headstock and also the rounded heel?
I think I saw both those features on a 66 but I could be wrong.
Could some of the changes that appear be down to the individuals who worked on particular runs?

Again though,
Gorgeous FG bass!

That does look very nice Kev, no question. Always cool to see the rubbing compound still in there, untouched.

Pete, the round heel is well established by '69. My '67 has it, and has the volute as well, which is really that thicker neck/headstock join. Other '67's I have seen have it as well. It is even more pronounced on my '68, as I guess the factory was continually trying the make this area more stable.
