A Better Introduction

Post by crawlspacestefan »

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to present a sort of formal introduction. My name is Stefan, and I - like you guys - now own a Rickenbacker 4003! I bought my bass in May (the bass iteslf was manufactured in April) and I've fallen in love. I live in Canada, and there aren't too many distributors around here so it was a bit tough to track one down once I'd made up my mind. I checked the website religiously to see who had been shipped one recently, and when I saw that a store in a city three hours away had been I got in touch, put it on hold, and made the trip. The guitar never even saw the sales floor!

I'm relatively young - I think especially with regards to those who appreciate Rickenbackers (it seems a bit lost on the younger kids) - at 25 years old. I've been playing for well over a decade now.

I'm currently playing in a punk/garage/mod sort of band. The guitar player is also a Ric fan. He owns two vintage '60s Rickenbackers - one 330 and one Rose Morris. We had the opportunity to play the 100 Club in London last summer. Here's a video, if you're interested:

I'm playing a borrowed P-Bass in that video.

But, I was finally able to unveil my 4003 in a live setting this weekend! Here's a short video of the performance (again, if you're interested):

Thanks again for the welcome and the help, guys!

Cheers.

Nice introduction and welcome!! I was instantly reminded of the Buzzcocks, which I was a huge fan of while growing up.
