I saw Zappa Plays Zappa and RTF IV this evening! Stanley was sporting two Alembic F-1Xs,an Ampeg SVT IV PRO and an Ampeg SVT II PRO in his rack driving two each Ampeg PRO NEO 4-10s and 1-15s ; no Fender Blues Juniors in sight. On the floor was a TC E G-System and an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe pedal that he mostly ran his tenor Alembic through when he wasn't using the standard tuned Alembic. He used the URB for about half the set.

Caught RTF IV in Sydney earlier this year - great gig. Combined with Dweezil it must have been mind-crushing, in a good way....

Was Jean Luc Ponty and Frank Gambale with RTF on the leg of the tour you saw? JLP fits in very well with them.

ZPZ was truly amazing, plus Dweezil seems like a very down to earth guy with lots of humility.

I would like to have seen that gig,sounds like a great combination! Also,glad to hear Stanley is playing a lot on the URB,i love his sound on that.

Saw ZPZ in Portland 2 weeks ago. Loved it. I want a xylophone in my band!!

ZPZ was truly amazing, plus Dweezil seems like a very down to earth guy with lots of humility.

Exactly the same line up played here. JLP made me see the light when it comes to jazz violin..... He shone like a beacon, and in that company, that's a massive achievement.

I played my TRF CDs on the way to the show, and frankly their live performance put the (excellent) studio output in the shade. Not a lot of acts can manage that! Easily my "gig of the year".

I am kicking myself for missing ZPZ last time Dweezil was in town.... Hope he comes back soon!

It was strange seeing JLP from a distance (we were in the lower balcony of the theatre for this show) as the last couple times I saw him were at Night Town, a very intimate jazz pub in Cleveland heights. In fact, the last time, he was standing right in front of our table! Jdog could have reached out and touched Jean Luc. That was when Shari & I did MICRIO and Jason and John Allgaier were at the show with us. (JLP still owes Shari & I a drink! )

I didn't get mine either for dressing his cable all evening. My ears are still ringing from the drums (about a foot from my head).
