Naked Tux is my guess as well. I love maple boards on Rics.

Yup. Should get here in a couple of weeks. Larry Davis is fixing it up for me. Some will debate the wisdom of messing with a limited-edition bass, I just can't stand yellowed white, and on most Tuxedos, the white is terribly yellowed. I also like the look of maple, so when the opportunity arose, I just had to have her stripped down to the wood.

Formal portraits to come once she gets here.

So, it sounds like you might be leaving it as just maple? Or do you intend to add a different finish color?

Naked, as in just maple. It will have a satin finish similar to that on the C64S basses.

I'm with you, Paul.

I'm a sucker for metallic colors though, so I probably would have colored everything but the 'board...and swapped the BT for chrome and white. Maybe a silver blue finish. But that's just me.

Don't mind me...I'm babbling again!

The satin finish Larry did on Kevin's "Black Walnut" 380 is oustanding. You will be very happy with this.

This is an all-around excellent idea.

I think it'll be cool in the matte finish too.

Hmmm...can Larry make a pick guard in matte black?

Personally I think the only justified reason to strip a 4003SPC Tuxedo is to refinish it in non-yellowing white.

If I wanted the stripped Tux look, I'd look for a Mapleglo 4003S (like this one) and have the fretboard replaced with a maple cap.

I do hope that one day it will be white again!

It's done and ready to ship out. Fingerboard looks a little dingy here, but that's because of the dappled light on Larry's deck:
