I listen to pandora a lot, making new "stations" as i go,and recently discovered from a Kraan station, a defunct Bay area band called "crime in choir". Based on the 2 tracks pandora played ,i just ordered 2 cd's from amazon, and am looking forward to checking them out further.
Hmm'also last nite on paladia,a prog-esque concert featuring transatlantic,elp,asia,and...foreigner? Elp still sounded pretty good, but i was surprised by Greg Lake's appearance,as i hadn't seen him in a while. (he's really big).

Yeah.......and I remember when a certain bass-guitarist who's famous for playing a Ric RM1999 that he's had since day one, was tall and very skinny!!!!! Well.....he's STILL tall

Yes I love it. Here you can see why Yes and Genesis are the leading force in that kind of music.

They lost me a little when they got to the newer stuff, but the old footage was great. Still, I call for more King Crimson footage. I know this is a Rick forum, but there has never been a more beastly bass sound than John Wetton on Red.

Indeed. To me, Starless is pure bliss, and Wetton's tone in the second half of that song is nothing short of filthy.
John - thanks for posting the viddy link!

Re: For You Prog Lovers
I sheepishly admit that I saw Wetton and Edie Jobson play last year and they did UK and Crimson tunes all night at small theatre in Arlington, MA. It was like a Star Trek convention, all the old prog wizards in the audience! John Wetton's voice has always had a lovely "lived in" quality and that sounded great. His bass playing was definitely hampered by carpel tunnel syndrome and he had a thumb pick taped to his hand. Sadly, his HIwatts were nowhere to be seen and he had a plain old modern bass tone. Meanwhile, Adrien Belew has a power trio with a young girl form Philly named Julie Slick who totally recreates the patented Wetton Brontosaurus bass sound.
I've said too much and outed myself as a prog geek. I'm going to go say ten hail REMs.

Maybe it was you who posted about that show in Arlington, I dunno, but I found out about it the day after. Crimso is #1 for both myself and the lead guitarist in my band (and he can nail Fracture), and we would have loved to have seen that.

Re: For You Prog Lovers
I gotta say, it has been a long time since I listened to UK, but my inner 15 year old would have been appalled if I skipped that show.
Just on the off chance you don't know this: Adrien Belew is playing in Boston in a few weeks with Tony Levin opening. there will definitely be some Crimson tomfoolery to be had.
