Paul, I'm afraid I'm with Ilan on this look. It seems incomplete, somehow, to my eyes.

It's possible nowadays to get a white finish that stays white. :)

For a moment I thought this was going to become a Lemmy tribute model. ;-) But Lemmy's maple necked Rickenbacker was with binding....

I like the look of the matched body and neck. My S8 is starting to yellow a little, and it looks OK to me too.

MMmmmm, Mapleglo and black. One of my all time favorites! I think the maple neck looks great...

Yo Paul can I get Larry Davis' contact info? I believe I have a project for him and can't find contact info on the net. Thanks!

I always knew the tux necks were maple, but it is weird to see a 4003 with a maple neck. Some 4004's have it.

Maple fingerboards, actually. Yes, the 4004C Cheyenne (I) and pre-2000 4004L Laredos had maple fingerboards, as did the 2020 Hamburg, 2060 El Dorado, and the black-painted 2030GF Glenn Frey bass.

And there was one experimental maple board 4003/5 (not S5!) that was posted here 3 years ago and was confirmed as being all original.

I like the look of your matte maple 'Tux,but that jetglo 5 looks ALL wrong with a maple fb,imo. I really love the look of the early ci's,with the maple boards, too. (don't you have one of those, too?)
