RIP Jerry Leiber

Post by kiramdear »

The legendary songwriter/producer has passed away at the age of 78. Any music lover who was alive in the Sixties must bow their head in sadness. As one half of the Leiber/Stoller team he gave us "Hound Dog", "Jailhouse Rock", "On Broadway", "Charlie Brown", and many other beloved hit songs. :(

He was a great writer and a visionary in terms of the whole rock and roll music genre. RIP Jerry. :(

Jerry left us with so many wonderful songs. Long may he continue to write in heaven.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I first learned about him by watching a VHS video I'd purchased many moons ago on the "girl groups" of the 1960's - at least I'm pretty sure he was in it. Many of the people in it have passed away now, including Ellie Greenwich.
