Replacement 4003 Bridge Pickup ..............

Post by Islandboy »

Hope I am posting this in the right place. I recently sold one of my 4003's , and was just contacted by the buyer to say that the Bridge pickup is completely dead. He took it to his nearby music store, and they confirmed the same. It was working perfectly before shipping, so the only thing we can think is that it got banged around in shipping. What would be the most cost effective way for me to get a replacement Bridge Pickup for a 1993 4003 ? Any idea of price ?
Any ideas / suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated !!!

Do have the pickup checked out for resistance first, disconnected from the circuit. If it shows infinite resistance, it has a broken wire. This seldom comes from shipping, BTW.

It's more likely that the culprit is either the selector switch or output jacks...

New pickups are available from the Boutique at www.rickenbacker.com (while you're at it, join their Forum, too). Used come up frequently on Ebay.
