Hey Scott,
Thought I'd take you up on your suggestion.
Here are my two Rickys, (the inside and outside basses)

Let me try this again. I'm using the "Upload Attachment..." button at the bottom of the screen. Is there another way to get your pics in your post?

I use my 96 4003 jetglo with Pyramids on it 99% of the time, nothing exotic but has a nice big present sound to it, I can bring that bass anywhere and run it through just about any amp and it always sounds good. I don't worry too much if I wack it into something either as I bought it for a beater, it's nicked and scratched but plays and sounds great, it has a Sérgio rewound treble PU in it too.
Hey, BTW yours truly will be playing live online most Thursday nights at evolvingartists.com, it's a blues jam type thing with a core band and a different featured player every week. You have to join to access it I think but it's free and I think it starts at 7:00 EST which I believe is either 2300 hours Greenwich meantime here in the summer and runs for one hour and you'll be sure to see a Ric and an SVT. (mic'ed, no direct boxes for this kid) I went down there the other night for a sound check and had my usual discussion with the young sound man who had wanted to put one of those dreaded, dry, cold, life-sucking things on my bass and we agreed to use a kick mic instead, haha! After a few songs he came up to me and said that my amp was the best sounding amp he had ever had in the room, I personally think it also had something to do with the Ric bass.
