You guys may be the only people to know how I feel right now.
I've been on short term disability since July and I missed two paychecks in a row. My wife was giving me a hard time, so I had to sell my Rickenbacker...I'm totally bummed out.
I'm sorry to hear this. It happens to the best of us. I had to sell a couple of mine earlier this year. But hang in there - there'll be another rick out there waiting for you when you get back on your feet.
It was the only thing that could instantly get back a nice chunk of change. I actually sold the white Kramer Nightswan in that picture as well. It was gone in a day. Believe it or not, what felt worse is that she didn't see how much it hurt me to sell it. It's truly been my favorite guitar.
Sorry to hear this.. I've had to sell some gear as well .. times are tough.. ..
but: the comforting fact is-- when the time is right.. there are plenty of guitars out there to choose from.. could very possibly end up being a blessing in disguise !
Thanks so much for the condolences. It helps a lot. Like many of you (I suspect), I love The Beatles. It's really tough to know that I can't go downstairs, strap the Ric on and get "that sound". I had a whole repetoire of tunes that I used to tear through....Smithereens, Tom Petty, REM...kind of rough, not having that option. I was in love with that guitar..
Tom, sorry you had to sell your Ric, but who knows? Maybe a better one is out there. When I find a guitar that just works for me, I stick with it for as long as I can. I should know, I've had the same four guitars since June of 2010. Nothing has left, nothing has come in.
