Original? did Ric fit shielding as standard.

Post by Seans »

Does anyone know if shielding fitted as standard on certain models, here's a pic of my 4080 control cavity, it shows a lead based tape. The guitar itself is early and one of the prototypes, which may add credence to the tape, or even the fact it's two guitars, but.... any ideas?

That was not done by the factory.

Thank you very much John, I must say looking over the instrument at the little mod's here and there, including making the control chamber larger after it had been sprayed, leaving clean cut route's that still have polish residue etc, the shielding looks rather half a job.

Not entirely. What makes you think it's lead-based? That sure looks like oxidized copper tape to me.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Nah, it's lead, the orange hue is just my cheesy smile, at staring over such an awesome instrument.
