The Jam were one of the best of those groups that lumped in with the group that were called New Wave and Punk. I guess they were Mod-Revival. Great song and a great group. That's Entertainment is there best song.

The Jam were one of the best of those groups that lumped in with the group that were called New Wave and Punk. I guess they were Mod-Revival. Great song and a great group. That's Entertainment is there best song.

Well... they were Punk. Punk wasn't a genre: Patti Smith, Talking Heads, early Costello, and Television are prime examples of punk bands that didn't sound like the Ramones or Sex Pistols. Anywhere from '73 to '82 - That era was punk for "alternative" bands. That's why, to me, it seems ridiculous for people to say they was a "post-punk" revival a few years ago, when that was an era - Not a sound.

I think it's worth mentioning that they had Ric copies before they bought actual Rics (When they got signed); goes to show that they're not totally sacrilegious instruments.

At some point Weller got himself a Rose-Morris model and then they shot this three minute Rickenbacker commercial.
I watched this dozens of times, pausing the video to see what brand those guitars were... so cool!

With regards to the 1996 Fireglo on the inner cover of the Direction Reaction Creation compilation, has anyone ever seen Weller playing this guitar? If not maybe it was it hired in to try to replicate the 1997 which he no longer has?
