Differences....

Post by beatlefan »

Things I've noticed on the '96....compared to the '00

1. The neck is noticeably flatter, overall thinner than my '00 ... reminds me of a Shadow neck!

2. Headstock is longer...maybe 1/4" to 1/2" longer

3. The nut is more rounded...beveled or slanted towards the strings.

4. Tailpiece doesn't have the "notch".

.....waiting on the parts from POR is like waiting for the water to boil....

Maybe Paul will weigh in on the neck. That inherent upbow with the neck explains the truss rod and plate issues.

I would think the new truss rods would take that out. Cool project!

Ok Marc....will do

Installed the truss rods yesterday morning, being very careful tightening them due to the previous neck repair.....checked 'em just a few moments ago and the neck is dead on straight. I'll be using my beloved TI Jazz flats on this one for the tone and the low tension it puts on the neck.....also installed the 'shoe and bridge today....moving right along....

Here is a pic of the neck after installing and adjusting the truss rods:

Installed horseshoe pickup and bridge:
I've decided to go with the black pickguard, being made by Tony @ Pickguardian along with the chrome pickups and bridge....and I'll be needing a black trc.....
