Looks like a '68-'71 Mapleglo with an extra pickup added between the bridge and the bridge pickup. Who was the bassist?

So, you missed the other pickup between the bridge and neck pickups? Kind of like Dave Meros' Rick.

I don't know who he is.

The bassist is Prakash John. He played with Parliament/Funkadelic at one point, as well as with Alice Cooper, and of course with Lou Reed in the 70s, as seen here. Which makes for a pretty eclectic resume.

Oh, yeah! Kinda hidden by the black pickguard, but you can see it at 1:03. The intro sure had nothing to do with Sweet Jane, and the transition was kinda awkward. I like the intro on the live track from Rock 'n Roll Animal better; fits better with the tune.
