I gave fellow Forumer Ted Staberow (Rickfan60) his first feedback when he bought a 4001 FG from me on eBay.
Here's how I handle the zero-feedback bidder situation, quoting directly from one of my current eBay listings:
No sales to zero feedback bidders (I might make an exception if you e-mail me first, but be prepared to provide beaucoup proof that you are a legitimate bidder and not some bozon). No sales to potential buyers with a negative feedback rating, or those with excessive negative feedback.

I emailed Gary and informed him of my Rick sickness and assured him of my ability and willingness to pay. I even listed a few items in my collection as evidence of my commitment. He graciously accepted my bid AND he let my payment slide for two weeks because I had a trip to Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic planned for the week the auction ended. It was bad timing all around but Gary took a chance that paid off. Thanks again Gary!
