Creative help definitely needed

If things go as planned, I will be receiving a nice little 1968 330 this week. It appears all original exept for a rather
poor refin. So.......I'll need to have it refinned again and I'd like to do something unique and creative but still retain
some value. Any thoughts, suggestions, or creative help would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to see what you all
can come up with.

I'd suggest a blue burst or an aqua burst.

How about a refin in Mary Kaye blonde with tortoiseshell binding and lower guard, gold upper guard and TRC?

I think the best way to to retain some value would be to do a period-correct finish, but it doesn't have to be Fireglo, ya know?

Think Azureglo, Burgundyglo, even a nice Jetglo.

If the old refin has left residue in the grain, you may have to go with an opaque finish, in which case I would second JB's Azureglo or Jetglo.

Personally I'm a big fan of Paul W's Ruby Red formula, but the period clash may have an impact on value...

Oh yes, an Aqua Burst! That should be a factory finish now, in my humble opinion.

Azureglo or Burgundyglo if it were up to me. I think you could get away with an opaque Burgundyglo.

I'm up int he are on that. This will be the 2nd refin. I think at this point you wouldn't lose much more value if you went with something you wanted(? ) If you really want it period specific, then definitely. But if you get a professional job on it, and it sounds and plays sweet, it would be a cool custom piece, no?

If looking for "unique and creative," go with anything but the standard period-correct finish colors. The value retention will be affected by how much the piece costs and the quality of the refin/resto. Value can be retained (or even enhanced) with a unique and creative approach.

If we're keeping things simple, I would be tempted to go with a shaded green finish on the 330.

Thanks for all the help folks.....lots to consider here.....I've got a slot booked with Larry Davis so I have a while
