I vote for SLAB. All the way. There's something charming about a bare-bones, pure SHAPE with no embellishment. (I'm thinking about my Combo 400--with binding it would have been awful...)

Very true...and I am on the fence about it. Strange part would be that I love the fretboard, and wouldn't want to change from dot inlays.

Dots n' binding might not work as well on this guitar in reality than it does in my imagination.

Fender did dots 'n' binding (as you know), transitionally, in mid-'66 between no binding and dots, and binding and block inlays, on the Jag and Jazzmaster.

It's an awkward combination, I agree.

Well, that was only on the necks -- I was speaking more about body binding/ neck dots

Which, of course....if my favorite combo with RM 1993's :)

That said, I don't think it would work as well on a guitar like this, totally different style..
