Fascinating to read this thread. I have a 2030 and its difficult to find info on them. Mine's a really dark navy blue. It almost looks black. Does anyone know what this color is called? Its not Jetglow and too dark for Midnight Blue. I'm wondering if it might have faded this color? I have seen one other in this color before; but only in a photo and the color was noted.

Louise, you may have a jetglo with a yellowed clear coat (?). This can sometimes cause a shift in appearance to a dark green - maybe bluish? Just a guess.

My 2030 is a little heavy but not so bad as described by some here. And the neck is just average, by no means chunky. I gather there's a lot of variation from example to example with these.

With the humbucking pickups and their placement, it will sound very similar to a 4004.

Thanks for the welcome, Rickenbrother.

@Kira and Brian, yeah thanks! I had read about some Rick finishes changing color in their cases in other threads; but hadn't seen anything about Jetglows going blue. You must be right, that seems like the most likely scenario here though. I suppose a lot of people would be upset if there finishes changed so drastically; but this was already blue when I bought it and I love the color.

Thanks a ton, Brian. I'm just getting familiar with the register. Very cool. Going to add a few more Ricks I know, hopefully this week.

Welcome, Louise. I'm guessing since you say it was blue when you bought it that it is a variation of Midnight Blue. There have been a few.
