That's a great idea! Now if only we can get a true stereo input/output version of the JB (that costs less than buying two JBs). I have the original JB and I very much like its sound.jimk wrote:I think you'll like it, Craig. I play my 360/12 using the ROS output and with both of my Jangle Boxes (JB-2-->neck p.u.-->Vox AC15; JB-1-->bridge p.u.-->MusicMan 110 RD-Fifty) I can almost achieve that "Back From Rio" sound.

Now that's what should be added to the Byrds Tribute JB, true stereo in/outs.stsang wrote:That's a great idea! Craig,
You're in for a real tone difference. The Janglebox pedals are addictive. Once you start using one, you'll always use it. And the Byrds model is by far the most versatile boutique compressor you'll find. I've had my JB2 for almost two years, and I can't play either of my 12ers without it!

Jim,
That's so cool that you're experimenting with Rick O Sound. So that's why you bought the second Janglebox!

Re: JangleBox JB2 Byrds Limited Edition
Interesting question... so does anyone know how Roger does/did it with his Rick? Does he run it in stereo Ric-O-Sound ? If I recall somewhere I read that he uses two Jangleboxes in his stage set up... I was thinking he ganged them ala the original studio method, but this discussion leads me to think about his response differently. I use a stereo Power Nashville Telecaster and use the original Janglebox which gives awesome sustain and a really nice smooth jangle... the Power Nashville also has piezzo in saddle pickups and I always run things in stereo (mags through reg amp/peizzos through PA... never thought of trying the piezzos through the Janglebox.... hmmmm will report back on that one. Anyone ever tried piezzos through a Janglebox?
Re: JangleBox JB2 Byrds Limited Edition
Fascinating to see some interest in a stereo JangleBox. My brother has been on my case for years to create one, but I thought he was the only one who cared
. Prior to developing the original JB2, we contacted our informal "focus group" about upgrades they'd like to have and stereo was very low on the list. But I'll definitely keep that idea in mind.
George, that Power Tele sounds terrific. I use a JB with my acoustic Taylor piezos all the time.
Roger doesn't use two JBs on stage, but he does in his home studio. Recently, he's been playing his Ric so little on stage — maybe 5 songs out of a set of 20 — that he usually just uses the house P.A. compression. The sound check time is better spent for him refining the levels on his two signature acoustics — his primary instruments of choice these days.

Absolutely! And, that's why I bought a 360 instead of a 330, too.Folkie wrote:Jim,

Yes, I overlooked the stereo feature. Its great that you pointed that out. Thats another opportunity to get some more equipment (some day soon).(JB-2-->neck p.u.-->Vox AC15; JB-1-->bridge p.u.-->MusicMan 110 RD-Fifty) I can almost achieve that "Back From Rio" sound

JimK,
When I finally get my Vox AC15, I might try out the Rick O Sound feature myself: one signal to my Princeton Chorus, and another to the AC15. Hey, maybe that would give me an excuse to get one of those limited edition Byrds JB2's!

Careful there, Robert.....it could be habit forming. Hi, my name is JimK, and I'm a Rick-O-Soundaholic.

My only experience with Rick-o-Sound was one time when I accidentally plugged my cable into the wrong jack. Boy, was I in for a surprise!
I think it's a really cool feature that many of us seldom use. That's great that you're experimenting with it onstage, Jim.

Yeah, I'm kind of a gadget freak, I guess. Most times I'm harmless. They keep sharp objects away from us here at the Neil Young Centre for the Terminally Screwed though.

Re: JangleBox JB2 Byrds Limited Edition
I love my original Janglebox and may have to check out the Byrds edition. Never hurts to have back-up, especially for stomp boxes. I remember one show in 1970 where I accidentally stomped on a control on my Big Muff Pi and blew the back right out of the pot.

Re: JangleBox JB2 Byrds Limited Edition
Wasn't just a tool for 12 strings anyway.....sounds superb on my 330/6.xpitt wrote:I just received mine two weeks ago - and I love it (Thanks Steve!). This one is quite versatile because of the jangle boost, it's not basically a tool for just 12 strings any more, my 360V64 with the 12 Ks sounds on another level, you can create really heavy sounds. Though, it's bigger than the first one was, no way to get it into the silver case.
