I bought it from Amazon...listened to it once. I'll give it another shot, but 8 years after Doll Revolution, I was expecting at least one Hoffs potboiler (that's not an insult...you try to write one). It's solid enough, and the mix isn't peculiar, like the two Sweet/Hoffs works.

Paul, I know I've posted this before......

I saw them at Universal Studios in the mid-80's, at an MTV charity event. They did an hour vocal-only set, accompanied by some guy on an acoustic guitar. They did "Yes It Is" and it was fantastic. So much so, that I went back to my apartment after the event and started on my own cover of the song. It's very primitive, due to my lack of decent recording equipment and will never see the light of day, unless someone rips off my Ipod.

The big draws at the MTV event were Adam Ant, Stewart Copeland (Police), Jane Wiedlin (Go-Go's), and Martha Quinn (from MTV). The Bangles just hung out in the bleachers after they did their set. There were about 3 or 4 dozen of us in the audience for their set. This was after "Goin' Down to Liverpool" and before "Manic Monday", so not too many people knew who they were. I have some blurry pics of their set, which don't do justice to how pretty these ladies were. Tom

Have I mentioned the Fleetwood Mac versus REO Speedwagon charity softball game back around the same time?
It's a Byrd, it's a playin'..........

They've no need of autotune. I found that out tonight. Just saw them at the Fillmore in SF. They are well rehearsed and sound *really* good. They can all sing.
The vibe was great and the audience had great feedback for the band, who stayed energized all night. The vox were tight like the recordings. Even some of the sly three parts on "He's Got A Secret" for example. They've no need of autotune.

Susanna didn't let go of her white Ric all night. I did see a black Ric guitar headstock peeking out from her rack-in-the-wings so I think that was probably the signature guitar on-deck, but she didn't use it tonight. She's loving her white Ric! I was too, for that matter!

Here's a shot from tonight, 08 November 2011 at the Fillmore, SF:

(edit) And just to fill out the equipment show, Vicki played her red buzzsaw of a GIbson about half the time, and the other half played what looked by the headstock to be a Paul Reed Smith of some variety. Debbi's drums were mic'd well and sounded amazing. On a few key tracks she came up to play acoustic guitar against a drum-machine. I didn't catch the make/model of that guitar. It was a fairly large body with a cutout.

I read that the first Susanna Hoffs signature model Rickenbacker presented to Ms. Hoffs was an all white one and that she turned it down. In hindsight, I think she made a mistake. That white one in that photo would have made for a special and very distinct signature guitar.

I'm glad I found this thread - listening to "Sweetheart..." now on Spotify. I like it! :D

Mostly playing devil's advocate here, but how do you know this?
Many folks can hear when auto-tune is being used. I can usually hear even subtle usage - probably comes from listening to good vocalists most of my life.
