do silver vintage 360 cases sometimes have red interiors?
.
Hello - -
I know that typical vintage (1960s) Ric cases are silver on the outside, and blue on the inside.
But do any of these 1960s cases have red interiors, with silver exteriors?
thanks -
Richard

Have you seen a silver case with a red interior? I haven't.
The standard Rick guitar case material changed in 1960/61 or thereabouts from red-lined gray cloth-covered to blue-lined silver tolex-covered. There could have been some transitional red-lined silver tolex cases made during that era -- especially if both types of cases were made by the same supplier.
Who knows?

There was a period in the late 60s/ early seventies when they used red and even amber gold interiors, but usually only with black tolex. You see this on a lot of 331 models, for example.

There are red-interior VRI silver tolex cases available here and there. I've seen one at a recent jam. Ricks fit in them.
There is no reason to ever be bored.
...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Here are pics of the '60s case in the link I posted...
It has the typical '60s silver Tolex, with the older style red lining.
My guess is that this must be a transitional case...probably made just after the late '50s "elephant skin"
cases were phased out.
NICE!

Or like this one, for a 1962 625:

Is that your 625, Ron?
