what tool works to detach input jack from Ric-O-Sound plate?

Hello - - - - when I try and remove the 1/2" nuts that hold the input jacks to the jack plate......I get stumped.

A crescent wrench won't squeeze in there.

A 1/2" nut driver is the "right" tool for the nut, but its barrel is too fat, and doesn't really fit in there either.

What tool should I use? Is there a specific brand of 1/2" nut driver that has a very narrow wall?

Or you can try to find one that's thin walled. IIRC, if the nut driver's tempered or forged, or whatever the correct term is, you can grind down the outer wall of the nut driver so it fits.

If I'm somewhere that there isn't a thin-wall nut driver at hand, I use needle nosed pliers very carefully. Also, the little pliers on my Swiss army knife fits it perfectly.

I use a standard six-point socket that has had its business end ground down and tapered to a thin edge.

He might be using a metric Crescent™ wrench instead of an American Standard one ...

IIRC, I have a mini adjustable wrench that works, as well as a 1/4"-drive socket set that has a 1/2" socket that works, too.

No I've been using a Fertile Crescent wrench.

That's how I've always done it, including the Swiss Army Knife.

Looks like a needle nose pliers kinda guy, but not for jack plate extraction!
