Hey, isn't that a Jeff Rath 425 2030 in the background? ;)

yep ... Brian says that is one of the best playing and sounding 5 string basses he has ever played ... also that white s5 should be a good bass ... the 80's models pickups are not as thick as the 90's ones ... it needs a little cleanup but it appears to be a sound bass ...

Good call. It is.. minus the black tape. My son uses it exclusively in his band. I just can't get the 5 thing down. Both of the 5 stringers are awesome though.
Jeff Rath does nice work .

Just a side note. A while back I bought Steve Cooper's '76 Azureglo which had the sound rewired (with Toaster) by Jeff . Really great sound! Since then 2 working bassists have borrowed it and have pleaded with me to sell it to them.
If you live in the Portland Metro area you can see and hear Steve's old bass tonight at 9:00 at Conan's Pub. The band is called Pharoah Fawcett. I'm sure the bass player would buy drinks all night if I let him keep it for a few more days.

Actully seen that band. Great band. I think I mixed them once or twice, although I know Marty is there normal FOH guy, Im busy workin the Roseland tonight, otherwise Id head over to Conans, and tell him I will get the bass for him a few more nights (lol), for free beer.

I'm glad my old bass is getting so much love! Image Hated to let it go, especially after it was Rath-ed!

Greg ... the white one that you sold me I played for a couple of years and sold to somebody in California ... that was an '89 ... the one in the auction is an '86 and looks pretty much the same ... the one Brian bought from me is the mapleglo 2030-5 ... and the azureglo 4001 was repaired be me as well ... it had a dead neck pickup and screwy wiring on the pots ... but once I rewired it with Ric parts and plugged it in ... it turned out to be one of the best sounding Ric basses I ever played ...

You need a program or scorecard to keep up with all of those changes ...

Yeah, altered or changed basses should have a pocket in the back where a list of mods could be kept.
