Chris' rig

Post by gearhed289 »

Does anybody know what those mysterious top boxes are on top of the 810 cabs? Been meaning to ask for a while, and I just saw some great pics from Sheffield City Hall, so I thought I'd finally ask. He's got that pair, a Marshall 412, and the Energy 215 for the "Taurus pedals". I also see Downes has a new Taurus III, AND a Roland PK5.

Can you post a pic Tom?

I'd love to see it if you have one.

THANKS!

Tony - I'm guessing that what Tom is talking about can be seen in the vids that Miguel posted:

European Tour started and I was there :))

By the looks of it, perhaps they could be two small microwave ovens, similar to the concept offered by Geddy's chicken rotisserie stacks:

To me they look like smaller cabs with 2 x 10" drivers in them.

I always thought they were un-racked SVT II heads under "wraps".

Uh... I smell smoke...

I'm pretty sure they're some kind of high end wedge monitors. He's had these at least as far back as the most recent Rick Wakeman era.

PS - I snagged the pic from a post on the Yes (official) facebook page.

I would like to answer your question but you mentioned Downes' new Taurus III pedals! I had finally stopped obsessing about them but you HAD to go and mention them, didn't you! (LOL!)

Now I cannot think about anything else for the next 72 hours...I'll check back in then, ok?
