Toasters on Rickenbacker Boutique Look Like 12.4K Version?

Post by stsang »

Did anyone else notice that the photo of the Toaster pickup on the Rickenbacker Boutique appears to have phillips head screws on the corners (not slotted head screws) and doesn't have the circles on the corners of the black plastic strips? This resembles the older 12.4K toasters and not the post-2000 7.4K toasters. Of course it could just be that the photo is playing tricks with my eyes. What do you think?

Having said all that, the description on the web page clearly states they are the 7.4K scatterwound pickups.

Compare that to this other photo (from the Pick of the Ricks site) which clearly has slotted head screws on the corners:

Has anyone purchased a toaster from the Rickenbacker boutique recently? Do they really have phillips head screw now or did RIC just simply post older photos?

It's just a photo mix up, I'm sure; I can vouch that Scat toasters arrive in the post from RIC held together with slot head screws, but would you really care? Cross heads are far superior in functionality, and they look cool, IMO. :)
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."
