We(my Beatles trib band)were playing a wedding about a year ago(with all the attendant blue hairs and children). On a break our soundman put in a new "various artists" CD. We were relaxing between sets and the next song started. (Thinks to self)"I know that tune..what is that? OH ****!!!!! I saw them live in around 69' or 70'. When they got to that part of the song I was standing near this cop who was hired for security. I still remember the look of disgust on his face. It was funny then but now I guess I understand better that it really didn't add to the song. The 45 "airplay" version had "brothers and sisters" in it's place. That was just a different time with the Nam and all.

Ironically, these days, you can't get the "brothers and sisters" version anywhere these days! Elektra put the clean version on the LP (the band approved the clean version for 45/airplay, but not for the album) after the biggest department store in Detroit (Hudsons, long since bankrupt) refused to stock it, which eventually led to the band being dropped.
Funny that this album comes up, since I just listed it on the "favorite live albums" thread in "the Others" category (without having looked here first)!
Wish I'd been around to see them live (I was born in '67!), but the recent documentary is a pretty near next-best-thing.

My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.
