Turquoise 4003?

Post by C'sPop »

Don't know if truly 'rare' as claimed, but thought I'd post for those interrested (21-NOV-2011).

I wouldn't use the word "rare," but "uncommon" would fit. Interestingly, I usually do like pearloid, but not so much on this one. Black plastic would look killer.

Looks as if it is loose or was mounted crooked. I doubt it came from the factory like that.

And the rare 4004 (and L converted to a C by swapping out the chrome for gold hardware):

Not only that, but the pickup and surround assembly are mounted crooked on the bass. My new 4003MID had a crooked pickup assembly too. My eye goes right to this sort of thing, and it bugs the heck outta me until I fix it. My 4003MID got a RIHS pickup in a genie vintage surround, so the holes were completely different anyway.
