Here's an original tune from a few months ago. It's an instrumental in which I worked to determine the sound of my 340 VP VB, strung with Pyramid 11 flats.
Like I mention in the link, "'Happening' tunes go places and make you want to move, groove, shake, or whatever you're all about. It's like the incidental music in a film or on TV. You can just imagine something 'happening', then there's the music sweeping you along."
I hope you'll enjoy.

Hey DOuble...
I really like the melody here. I can see this being used in a TV/Movie thing for sure. Mix-wise, the tone didn't shimmer as I hoped it would..... for me. Seemed like things were muted at bit. Maybe hard compressed or something. Not sure. But for me, I'd like to hear a bit more in the upper end.

Thanks for the feedback, Chap. I appreciate it.
The mix needs to be improved, huh? OK, will do. I'm discovering that mixing takes a lot of practice to develop an ear and the tech know-how. Still, it's relatively early days with this whole home recording gig. Onwards & upwards, hopefully
I've noticed that I have difficulty hearing the top end in general. It might have something to do with too much time in front of my bass amp, right beside the drummer, back when we thought it wasn't cool to wear earplugs. [Shiver/shudder....]

Try it now. I tidied the mix somewhat. It's just an afternoon at the soundboard, but hopefully things are much better. The end is a sharp cut for now, prior to fade-out.

Hey Stefan,
Are you using software plugins or hardware for mixing?
You mentioned losing energy on the 2nd cut posted. Sounds like the first cut has heavier compression or with EQ'd boosted.
The big difference I hear is the guitar came up front in the 2nd and the bass line is louder but more mellow.
