We ( http://www.shamustwins.com ) have one at Fais Do Do ( http://www.faisdodo.com )(don't ask me how to pronounce that) in Nov. and one at Paladino's ( http://www.paladinosclub.com )in Dec. The Fais Do Do gig is in conjunction with the International Pop Overthrow/David Bash deal and Paladino's is a Toys For Tots charity thing. Paladino's is primarily a Metal/Tribute club, Fais Do Do is totally cool. We're trying to take time off cause we're tired of doing all our old stuff and want to work on our new stuff.
Our web site is undergoing upgrades, apologies. We were played on Local Licks, a show on KLOS radio ( http://www.955klos.com )here in L.A. weekend before last. Eliot Mintz of John and Yoko was once a DJ there, now it's all Classic Rock.

Here's my entry: www.timelinemusic.net. All original progressive rock/metal. Enjoy!

I have not posted here in a long while, but I saw this thread and had to pimp my band & recording projects. Hey, I guess it's not shameful self promotion in a thread all about shameful self promotion.
my band:
Four Fried Chickens and a Coke. A 11- piece rhythm & blues revue.
www.fourfriedchickens.com
website including my recording projects:
www.theprojection.com
I use my Rickenbacker basses and guitar on many different tracks. Too many to list, if you stop by and listen, you try and guess which ones.

I put this in a few weeks ago but figured I'd put it in again, sorry no pictures.

I'm doing a live blues jam every Thursday from 8-9 EST. Some weeks the featured artist is good, some weeks not so good, the core band is good though. The guitarist is the leader and plays in The James Montgomery Band. I usually use my 96 jetglo with Pyramids on it. I'm also bringing down a full 70's SVT set up this week because I'm sick of dragging my two 15"s/87 SVT head down there every week.
A funny story, I complained about direct boxes the first week, the soundguy was skeptical but used a bass drum mic and I thought it sounded a little muddy but he loves the sound and won't use a direct box now, haha! I guess he's got the sound better this past week. I had him come up to the stage and told him to make it sound like this, he's a hard rock sound man who is used to having just bottom on the bass with no mid or top.

Being from Kansas City(Kansas of course) I had to check out your website Landon. And low and behold who do I see in the top row, looking more dapper than I've ever seen him, Steve Cox. One of the best, funniest, drummer-singers I know. The Kansas City music scene has always been fun and happening with may more diversity than out here in So.Cal. Tell Steve I said Hi and good luck!

I would never use a drum mike ... I prefer a full range mike like a sm57 ... I mike a 10" speaker and pretty much do a flat eq on the pa to reproduce the sound coming from my speaker cab ... some sound men don't like this ... sometimes I have to aggressively enforce my opinion ... they are there to reproduce my sound ... not make me sound their way ...

Ya ... I am a pretty mellow guy ... but I can lose my temper with inept soundmen ... or studio engineers who don't know how to record a bass ... and there are better cabinet mikes than a sm57 ... they just cost more ... also mike location will change the sound as well ... I put the mike up close and near the edge of the speaker ... this gives me more bite ...

The last time I was in K.C. was right after the earthquake out here. We've been in a few bands together and always reunite when I come to town and play a party. The last time was no exception and I have it all on video tape. If I'm not mistaken, Brian has an older sister named Donna whom I've also played with in a couple of bands. I think the world just got smaller.

For what it's worth, here's a link to some of my "band"s stuff...we're more of a joke band than anything else...

Only tracks 2 and 4 came out sounding anything near the way they should have, so ignore the rest. These songs were from a practice session in a friend's basement. Tuning and timing were serious issues.
Forgive the disgusting vet student humour.
I played my 340/6 through a friend's Marshall amp, on the off-chance anyone was wondering.
