BBR question

Post by berth »

I just bought this thinking it is BBR. Just to be absolutely sure: Am I right? It looks pretty much the same to me as this BBR by Olivia

I thought the price was low for a color of the year. But if you describe it as "translucent blue with dark blue edges" no one will know it is a COY.

It is beautiful and the price is excellent, but I would run the serial number by the folks at RIC or have the people at Elderly check the warranty card to be sure it's BBR and not TB.

Hey Berth

I have a Blueburst 4003 and your new bass looks like a Blueburst to me.
Although I've never seen one in person, to my knowledge the Translucent Blue is the same over the whole bass, where as the BBR finish is like the FG finish and gets much lighter in the middle. On your new bass it certainly gets lighter in the middle, especially on the neck.

Here's a link to some photo's of my BBR 4003 if you wanna have a look.

The Rickenbacker website says after having filled the webmailform and send it. ;-)

Apologies for that, I didn't realise as I'm brand new to the forum.
I'll try and amend the post.
Here's a direct link to some photo's via photobucket, hopefully this is ok.

Thanks for the compliment John.
Just can't help wishing I'd gone for FG!, but I still love her dearly.

Sam, based on the shading it looks like it could be one of the earlier ones in the run. Of course, I could be dead wrong. What year is it from?

I'm guessing it's one of the later ones as it's a 2007 model

Here's a photo of a Trans Blue Cii for comparison. No shading around the edges.

I must have missed yours Sam as I look quite frequently on the sales pages of the basschat forum. I've done some pretty good deals in the past there. Yours is 100 cheaper than the other BBR on sale there. Welcome over here BTW.

If you make it to 30 postings over here you can view and post in the sale section on this board also. Might be usefull. It certainly is usefull for you Rickenbacker knowledge to visit this board more. ;-)
