Let Me Roll It - McCartney cover

Post by walker »

Here's a cover I dug out the crates - this dates all the way back to 1992. I thought this tune went particularly well with another song by another big-time artist, so I blended the two together. The 2nd song & artist? Well... you'll have to listen to find out, won't you! HA!

Let Me Roll It + "bonus track"

(available for free download)

minutae: The bass is the '79 Harley bass. When I recorded this, I was on a big Randy Rhoads kick with guitar production, and had been listening to a lot of Brian Wilson as well. Those two influences come into play w/ the guitar and harmony vocals.

The songs were recorded using a Tascam 4 track, the 464 I think. These were really great machines; the only noticeable flaw was the DBX noise reduction system - it caused a sort of pumping effect during quiet passages with drums.

Awesome, Mark! The KARMA Kings have been working on this song for a couple rehearsals now, and we morph into Band On The Run (the Dave Grohl version) instead of your very cool RW. 8)

Now that's some cool morphin'! (not to be confused with cool morphine, or cruel dolphins.)

I didn't know that the Foo-Fighters did BOTR! But all things being relevant, here's the FF's with CS:

aaahh... sounds like you've got a little bit of prog rock homework cut out for you! After all, knowledge tears down any wall.

Well, I don't think your clue was obvious, Jeff. Not many people know about the Reggie White version!

Not the Foo Fighters, but Dave Grohl doing BOTR with Paul's band at the White House:
