Piezo? Pie-zo? Pe-ay-zo? Pie-ay-zo?
This word gets mispronounced, apparently, more than...well, Rickenbacker, Mosrite, and Peart (as in Neil) combined.
So which is right?

I'm not sure how to pronounce it, but more often than not it sounds like 'quack' ...

So, how do you pronounce well, Rickenbacker, Mosrite and Peart combined?

I'm still trying to figure out how 'Technics' gets pronounced like 'techniques'. 'Nic' as in 'picnic' and 'nique' as in 'unique'.
I just call it a pie-zo, because that's how the word looks to me, like Simon and his pieman.

I always thought it was "pee-etso", with the "z" taking on a European "ts" sound. But then, we talk kinda funny down here....

Oh, I get it. They made up a word to justify their disregard for phonics (pronounced 'fon - eeks'). Actually, when I first saw the name Technics, I thought they were going for an audio association to pyrotechnics. I guess not.kennyhowes wrote:It's what's called "Adva-spell," like Chick-Fil-A.beatbyrd wrote:I'm still trying to figure out how 'Technics' gets pronounced like 'techniques'. My dog Eh! Zo? goes outside to pee. Therefore, it would be pronounced Pee Eh Zo.
