Squire's 8-String bass

Post by cheyenne »

Here's a good pic of Squire's custom made Ranney 8-string bass. Pickups are close in location to the first generation 4004, kinda shaped like a Rick too.

So much so, that I mistook it for a 4004 body with a Ric potatoe squash headstock, initially. (From close off, anyway).

My upcoming 10-string project the "Model 3410" is inspired by Squire's Ranney-8 which I'm sure was inspired by his '73 4001/8. Mine will be a bit more "Rickish" since I'm using all RIC parts.

Scott I am interested in the photograph? So far I have found a few sites that have shots but most are cropped so that you can't see the whole guitar or bass or musician? Anyone got any photo guy's they know who have some nice shot's of any Rock Bands?

I know a guy around these here parts that has pics of The Beatles from back in '64 or '65 when they first came here. I think he also has Hendrix and other tasty things. I haven't seen him in a LONG time so, to tell the truth, I don't even know if he is still alive!
