New guy

Post by ChuckEds »

Hey everyone,
I've been in the registry for a couple of years & recently started getting into forums in general. You guys seem to be having so much fun here I just had to join! This is awesome, I never get tired of looking at the pictures & hearing people talk about their Ricks!

Welcome! That's a very impressive collection you have there! I can't recall ever seeing that many Ricks with vibratos in one place at one time.

BTW, what kind of vibrato is that on your 430 and the FG 610? I'm considering getting one for my own 430 and yours looks like a good size.

Happy to be here, thanks! Gotta have that extra shimmy! Those are Hallmark vibratos, very close to Mosrite (on the 620), which the original Hallmarks were a spin-off from. They work really well but the prices have gone up. Got one maybe 5 years ago for $75 & now they're $175. Recently got a Vox repro whammy for $159 which are also really good, and like the Hallmark are smaller than the Bigsby.

Thanks! I'll check those out. I've been considering a Bigsby but am a bit put off by the size.

Thanks guys, like I said, I'm happy to be here! I've had RAS for over 30 years, my mom got me that 430 when I was about 12 or 13 and I've been adding Ricks ever since!

Jonathan, check out that vibrato @ www.phantomguitars.com , they're doing some very cool stuff...

It's been refinished several times over the years!! Always keeping an eye out for another RIC - 4,6 or 12 stringed!

Welcome to the RRF Chuck! RAS has set in, and it'll only be fueled by hanging around this place!

As others have said, that's a great start to your collection, and a picture we all won't get tired of seeing!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Thanks CJ, yeah I get a severe case of RIC envy every time I log in! Glad you like the pic, don't think I ever had them all in the same place at the same time, just had to get the camera out!

OK, I can't resist (and maybe it'll fuel a bit more RAS for you  ). Here's a pic of my family. There are a few more now, so I need to get a new pic one of these days...
