More Accent problems

OK mates.. I have a Ric 345..actually it started life as a 340 but I installed the cooler looking accent vibrato along with Pyramid flat wound 11 gauge strings which I found too heavy and awkward to use. I since replaced them with 10 gauge round wound GHS Boomers which I like better. The accent does weird things now like clamping down when I push down on it but it comes back up into the 'play' position when I pull up on it. Has anyone ever had this problem? Is it normal? Also what are you guys using on the way of string gauges on your Rics?
