New Jetglo purchase

Post by geddeeee »

Bought a Jetglo 4003 on Wednesday and played my first gig with it tonight.

What a bass. I already own a 2004 Monty Brown, but this 2011 model is just so much more Rickenbacker!! Really twangy and punchy. Piano tone indeed.

The neck is really slim too. And the finish and hardware is fitted to perfection. Flawless. Neck is arrow straight already, just a minor intonation and action setup, and it was good to go.

I've usually been a fan of the 'capped' or vintage tone. The modern (or normal) setting is really great on this particular bass, loads of top end twang and mids.
This bass really sings. It certainly feels like an £1800 instrument.

Full marks, RIC!!!!!

Congrats on you geddeeee.

I'm also a jetglo owner, a 2008 to be precise. I've just played seconds ago and i'm still amazed how great is this bass.

I'd like to buy a post 2010, i've heard nothing but good things about it, but being a lefty i know that i will have to wait a long time ...

Sounds great, what I could hear from here! It probably looks great, too, although I can't see it from here.

Merry Christmas to you!! Yup, my 2011 JG 4003 is tops! Perfect right out of the box and it paved the way for me to add a few other Rickenbacker's to my arsenal!

Congrats!!

Rock on. We're definitely in a 'golden era' for Ric basses.

Yeah, the 'post 2010' era Rick basses seem to be really well made, and sound great.

The new neck design is superb. Really thin. I lucked out, I reckon.
I had a Precision bass once that was a great player out of the box too. If any of you get the chance to try the 'new' Rick basses, I would recommend it.

Awesome instruments!!!!

Congrats Mark. There's nothing quite like a Rick bass and JG is one of my favourite finishes. :D
