Looking for a '65 RI Deluxe Reverb (soon)?

Post by beatbyrd »

Hi, I share this info only to save fellow forumites a few hundred dollars on a new amp. This is a tough economy, so every bit helps, right?
Best Buy is selling Fender '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb amps for $735. A bunch of folks have posted that this amp pairs very well with Ricks. I brought one home tonight. If you get an open box/floor sample, you get an extra 10% off, bringing it down to around $662. These are priced at $999 all across the net. This is a huge discount. Act soon. I don't know how long they will do this. It has to be an in store purchase and I think it's limited to quantity on hand (no backorders).
Let me know if you pick one up. Tom
It's a Byrd, it's a playin'..........

To all the forumites who are debating, let me be of some help (or not).

I have one. It's my only amp, and the only one I want, since I'm a home player who has the occasional jam/gig. Dave Rogers and Norm Harris told me it's perfect for what I do. Yes, the amp sounds great with a Ric, and the Reverb and Tremolo are to die for.

It sounds EXCELLENT clean, has that Fender sparkle and glassy chime that it's own for, and when you crank it up, you get some good breakup.

Do you want one, Tom?

Hi Jake, Let me say again, "I brought one home tonight". I got it at the open box price. They don't have a lot of these left in SoCal. Now all I need is someone to tell me that you can get them at FlyByNight Music for $125...... with solid gold logo. Tom

I think Jason plans on getting one just after the new year begins.

I can't keep up with the rule changes...... are amps excluded in their deal? Personally, I think they're both doing this to get unbeatable, tempting deals offered to them, which they will both pounce on. nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say-no-more.

Tom, where ya been man? I just bought mine an hour ago through FBN Music for $149? She has a platinum logo with NOS matched RCA tubes, Celestion Gold speaker, and grillcloth weaved from Eric Clapton and Robert Johnsons hair!

Can't buy amps. And gosh, I wish I were smart enough to think of that!
