I've never played this model before. It plays GREAT :)

Would a plastic (?) 330 case fit it? I've got some extra cases. I forgot to tell him about that.
It sounded better when you and Rich played it, than when I played. I haven't owned a 6 string guitar since 2004, so I'm quite rusty.
Not sure if the 430 would fit in a 330 case. Maybe I could find a used Tele case for a good price?

cjj wrote:Yep, POTR has the official ones, which are the same bolt thread as the old style strap pegs.

I make my own from the Schaller ones by tapping the original hole in the lock and using a flat head bolt with the head turned down to fit inside...
Technically, ranch hand, it's a "machine screw" The threading for it is 10-24. (#10 screw, 24 threads per inch--TPI).

My 430 is in its original case--lucky me--but a Fender or general-purpose case to fit a Tele works fine.

rickenbrother wrote:Thanks guys. Tony can't grumble much about this one. It's not Jetglo. I guess they made a few of these back then with a satin or matte black finish...no fingerprints get left on the guitar. I just have to clean it my a bit to my liking. I guess I shouldn't use any Scratch-X, Nu Finish Scratch Doctor or Zymol on it.
Use a plastic spray called "Brillianize". Cleans it up and sheds future fingerprints. Google.

Thanks Paul! :) IIRC, Ben said Brillianize is what they are using on the new UV cured finish at the factory. Good to know I can use it on this guitar as well. I'll find a general purpose Tele case.

Heres an Idea for a case: Get a spare Rick Case that you dont use, and gut it...Take out the bottom section (Where the guitar lies). Now Buy some foam, or pick some up at RIC (California connections? ) Set the 430 on the big peice of foam, trace it, then use a router to rout out the foam. Also, rout two boxes near the neck to store things in. Then cut the block of foam to the size of the inside of the gutted case. Glue felt to it, get it looking all nice, then glue it into the gutted case. Voila!
I'm sure there might be flaws in my suggestion...I just thought of if now. But you're smart and you could get from point A to point B no problem

Traitor.

Congrats Joey, nice catch!

I too hope to follow in your footsteps one day. I asked for the ROCKSMITH program for PC for Christmas.
The program was delayed so all I got was a gift certificate. Which is ok, it gives me a little time to save my pennies for a real guitar.

Yeah, I enjoyed giving it a test-drive at the jam last night. :) It plays real easy and the neck has a very nice feel to it. Good action and it has a great tone. It's a keeper !! We've got some photographic evidence of Joey playing that six stringer too
