A Simple Mod To My Case
Well, I finished a little addition to my case. I don't like those open bays. When I open the case I don't want to see junk. I want to see nothing but the blinding glory and beauty of the Rickenbacker, so I made little doors for those open bays. I like it. I'm now finished with all the prep work on my new guitar. Now I can just play her. Thanks for all the help and tips.

Nice! Can you give us a more detailed explanation of how you went about doing it?
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

The plan was to have hinged doors covered with the matching black fur lining. I did these steps first and was happy with the results so I'm not going further.
You can see in the first photo little things sticking out of the walls of those bays. I simply screwed inch long screws into the foam and put those little rubber covers over the screws. The doors rest atop those screws at the right height.
The doors are just 1/8 thin wood that I got at a model/crafts store along with the wood knobs. I painted the knobs the same blue as the guitar and stained the wood ebony. The wood is the color of the case fur, the flash from the photo makes it look different, but with no flash it is exact. (I do have the same black fur material that is in the case and my initial plan was to cover the doors with that fur; but I was afraid the rubber cement needed to attach it to the doors would affect the guitar's finish.)

Should you decide to cover the wood with the acrylic fur fabric, use 3M 74 in a spray can and follow directions on the can. Leave the doors off for a few days to de-gas, and you'll be fine.

I know rubber cement reeks for ever. I assume some gasses off of it would hurt the guitar's finish.
