Is it more than a coincidence that you sport his hairstyle Ivan?

Your perfectly entitled to your opinion. I'm not a HATER, I just think that it was a very hackneyed and poorly sung version of Let It Be.

Didn't have much of an issue with that. He started rough but hit his stride eventually. Not an easy gig folks. A logistical nightmare in so many ways.

Nice to see him playing and singing too. Not yer typical talentless idol. I have also seen him play drums very well and some guitar too.

Very well said! He actually does have talent, The "Industry" really let him show it in his acoustic album. A very small amount of tweaking was done. He was great when he was yound and he still had his high voice. It takes A LOT of balls to be able to perform on the mic of a football stadium. Especially when you're that young. Also, there is a delay on most stadium mics so that would add to the challenge. Also when his voice cracks (I can relate to that one) he takes it like a pro, and laughs it off. He was an uncut diamond in the ruff, and now he is truley shining!

I just hope he survives the music machine and is then able to prove himself!

I don't know how many of you sing as well as play. I will be the first one to tell you that any thing performed by the "Beatles" is tuff to sing. It is exceedingly tuff to perform to a discerning audience. Please give the kid a break. Mark

My 12 y/o granddaughter (a Bieber fan) texted me when JB started singing: "He's doing a Beatles song!"

I'm so proud! :D

Seriously though, a very poor, very average performance. People's standards these days are to be found somewhere at the bottom of the barrel.

Listing to Just Beiber and Santana (when was the last time he was relevant?) isn't my idea of a discerning audience. It was New Years and they were happy to listen to anything, most people probably didn't even know the song except for the 30+ crowd.

Beatles songs aren't hard to sing and play IMO, probably because that all I listen to though.  8)

Here's how the conversation in the ABC bunker probably went down:
Exec 1: We need a singer...what about that one that dresses like Ellen DeGeneres...I think my step-daughter listens to her...er, him.
Exec 2: Right...Janet, who's the big teeny-bopper singer now? Bieber! That's it! Get him. Promise him the standard barrel of money contract. We pick the song.
Exec 1: But what about the old people in the crowd? You know...the over 20 crowd that will see right through this and the screen of screaming girls we put in front of the stage?
Exec 2: We gave most of the money to the kid, so it's gotta be cheap. We'll get Santana.
Exec 1: Great. Now for the song. It's gotta be something that can be accessible to everyone in the crowd...something...palatable. Who's the least offensive and trendiest band that will surely make families gather around the television?
Both: The Beatles.
Exec 1: This is gonna be risky. I hear that NBC is going with a Lennon solo hit...we don't want to seem too copycat.
Exec 2: When was the last time anyone really watched NBC without the remote batteries being dead?
Exec 1: What will make people feel good going into the New Year? "Help!"? Nah...too needy.
Exec 2: "I am the Walrus"? Don't look at me like that!
Exec 1: "Revolution"?
Exec 2: No...we need something to remind people that no matter how bad this year was, they can't do anything about it in the twenty minutese.
Exec 1: "Let it Be". Let's make it happen. Plus we get the McCartney demographic that NBC will surely miss.
Exec 2: Harrumph.
Exec 1: Wow. That was a lot of work.
Exec 2: I know, right. Janet? Clear my schedule. I'm done for the day.
Exec 1: This may be the best New Year's ever. Until next year of course.
Sarcasm just doesn't come through when you're typing...
