Another Byrds classic from Studio Z--"Tribal Gathering"

Post by vynesmusic »

One of my very fave Byrds songs....from "Notorious Byrds Brothers"...

Again...Michael Clarke....who knew?.....he was a JAZZ drummer.... :D

I did the vocals, played 2 Rick tracks, one LOUD Strat track, full drum set and the P-bass.....

I submit for your approval:

Hi Gee, I'll reply on this one, because I liked it more than the other. I think you really captured the sound and feel of the Byrds very well on this cover. Please keep them coming. I respect the fact that you don't always cover the easiest or the most well-known Byrds tunes. Tom
It's a Byrd, it's a playin'..........

Nicely done. 5/4 has interested me ever since I heard the Dave Brubeck Quartet's recording of Take 5.

Thanks Jim----didn't know that was 5/4....

It was TOUGH....especially recording drums first, ala Todd Rundgren....

I have covers of B.W. Stevenson's "My Maria", and Henry Gross' "Shannon" on the way, then I think I'll work on originals and try to get a sales site up and running thru Reverbnation.

My live band has languished due to the economy and the Nazi DUI laws down here in the South, so....we must forge on

Thanks for your comments! :D
