That will go nicely with your silver 4003 bass Peter.admin wrote:Not so new, but I have been bitten by the Blacktop Tele bug. I would be interested in your comments.

Nice observation, Mark.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Pete I thought you sold that silver a long time ago? Guess not, cool! Post a pic eh?
Funny we still don't see silver that often, do we?

...except that it's got a late '66 neck with blocks and binding. Strange!
I love the BMM color, green guard and aged plastic, though.

I like the blocks. Makes an already busy-looking guitar look even more busy.jingle_jangle wrote:...except that it's got a late '66 neck with blocks and binding. Strange!

Re: New Fender stuff
Where'd you get the info, Mitch?
Are these USA or Japan models? They were shown in Japan back in April...

It's an AVRI, $50 more then standard. Check OSG Paul.jingle_jangle wrote:Where'd you get the info, Mitch?

Also note that it has a CP trem placement in the photos. Hopefully just a gaffe in the mockup process.
Re: New Fender stuff
I see the Jaguar is missing it's mute, or was it gone by the time B&B were introduced?
Very nice looking guitar, BTW, unlike certain members of the forum I am open to accepting gifts this year.

Yep. I see it's a NAMM 2012 announcement. And, I, too, hope that they correct the trem placement, although I doubt they will.sloop_john_b wrote:It's an AVRI, $50 more then standard. Check OSG Paul.jingle_jangle wrote:Where'd you get the info, Mitch?

BTW, I own the 1999 NAMM/review Fiesta Red AVRI prototype Jag, and it is spot-on to the original '62. The custom shop did terrific work back then.

I love this one too, I'm a sucker for purplesloop_john_b wrote:Whoa, that 50th Jaguar is nice! Looks like BMM.

I noticed that too. If that's how it is, that would ruin the whole thing. Why, why why?sloop_john_b wrote:jingle_jangle wrote: Also note that it has a CP trem placement in the photos. Hopefully just a gaffe in the mockup process.
Also, why would they put a full size humbucker in the Competition Blue Cobain Mustang?? He had a single coil sized rail humbucker in it. It's a huge oversight that totally ruins the look, IMO.
I'm excited to see the Marr Jag in the other color option... a faded-to-orange Candy Apple Red. Johnny put more work into this signature than in any other I can recall.
Great Ramp In My Opinion.

+1
It is notable that Kurt loved his comp mustang so much that it was one of only mustangs that didn't get the pickup swapped out.
(He did snap the headstock off in a moment of frustration in Dallas '91 ....but that's another story.
