Well, there is at least 1 fretless 4002...

There are 2 listed in The Register, Ginger's and another with no pictures, so it could be a mistake...

They weren't afraid to change the pickups, so it's likeliest they changed the fretboard too, huh?

Probably a mod but I'd have it! (ditch those nasty pickups though)

I would say it's a replacement fretboard in Ebony. The only stock ebony board was on a 4002 and even Ginger's has dot inlays. Mys guess is it was a standard 4003S that was modded w/ebony fretboard and new pickups. Isn't that neck pick up a Duncan?

Looks like both pickups are Duncans.

It's not a mistake ;-) that second one is mine and I love it!
it's also has a walnut finish and is an 84? ( I thought it was
an 82 but I see when I registered it I put it down as an 84.
Time to check that S/N as well).

Haven't been on the forums for a long time. There were pics
posted of it long ago but with the new fretless forum I suppose
it's time to take some new ones and post them.

Absolutely! We all love to look at pictures, especially of the 4002, and a 4002FL even more!

And welcome back!
