I stumbled across this tonight... what is this, the 325 everyone's talking about when I search for "Andrew Gold" here?

Looks more like a 370 WB that someone has thrown a bigsby on to me...

Re: Andrew Gold 325 on SNL
With all due respect to Andrew, I think its a faker or a 340 redone to a 370. The fretboard inlays don't look right. Look at the shots close up towards the end after he plays the riff.
I don't think it's a 12er -- how would that work with a Bigsby? TRC looks like it's for a 12er, but headstock looks like a 6-string.
This is a really old SNL clip, like from early '80s, before the V64 RIs. Dont' see too many 370 WBs in JG from that era . . .

I, too, thought of the f word, but was chicken to cast the first stone, esp re the late great AG. Those inlays, are they blocks?

Back in the 90's Andrew Gold Produced, and played on this artists album. He's listed as playing a Rickenbacker 12 string guitar.

Interesting! But that's definitely a different guitar than what's being discussed here... This one is definitely a 6 string, the knobs, pickups, and body shape are definitely funny looking, so yes, I'm pretty certain faker. I can see how it would be easy to mistake that headstock with all the extra big shiny chrome for a 12er. I think that's just big fat 6-string tuners we're seeing reflecting tons of light.

I just think it's odd that someone who obviously knows, owns and loves real Rickenbackers would chose to play a fake on live TV.

Faker to me.
