Wrath of Klon!

Post by whojamfan »

Ok, so here's the deal. The guy who made the Klon overdive, which now ebays for like 1,500 bucks, has been saying he is releasing an identical sounding one that he's having someone else build for a lot less money. You would think the loyalists and cork sniffers would be happy as pie, but all over the web, these folks are indignant and crying like little girls.

Basically, the guy has had some setbacks, and this seems to be causing the world as we know it to end for some. He was at Namm with it, and people couldn't help but whine and moan about the color, box type, and lack of Horseyman logo. It seems the last thing folks were/are interested in is does the thing sound just like the original.

Well folks, I have it under good authority that you can A/B this puppy with the original handmade one, and the tone is all there. Due to some setbacks in production, it is not quite ready to hit the streets yet, and the final look of it is a mystery.

This has so many people enraged, you just wanna yell "get a life!!!"

I have a pretty bad gear jones and am a fussy person about things, but reading stuff like I've read over the past few days, I'm apparantly only a moderate

Bottom line, the guy wants a product he can stand behind and that lives up to the reputation he has so rightfully earned-sheesh folks-give the guy a break for being stand up about releasing the best thing he can. He also wants to make sure there is enough product to be available to fill all orders when released. This won't be a get on the list and hope you get your pedal before a couple of birthdays roll by.

I just thought I'd share that with you folks as I know there are a popular item, somewhat legendary, and that an opportunity to try or buy is realistically on the horizon for those of us in the 99%

I have purposely left out names and forums as to not compromise the rules here, the place where we actually value treating each other like human beings.

Anybody using the original ones now, and give us a review!

So the guys sitting on their $1200 Klons are upset that the value's gonna take a hit. I'm bursting with sympathy here.

Looking forward to buying a new one. :D

no john, they think they will be going up in value. What these babies are crying about is really laughably lame
color-knob placement-top mounted jacks-not being small enough-taking too long to get out etc

I, too, look forward to being able to own one. If the sound is there, I don't care what it looks like. I'm just going to stomp on it anyway! Wow...

Yeah, it's likely that the price of original Klon pedals will either stay the same or increase. People just like to complain.
